We bought a used 2005 Neon SXt for my step-daughter who just got her drivers license a few weeks ago. The car has 95k miles and is in pretty decent shape. However, the paint needed some serious correcting. Today I finally got out the Porter Cable and went to work on the hood.

Here is what I was working with.

After a few rounds of polishing, here is what I ended up with.

Not a bad litte ride for her first car.

Here is the kit that I bought last fall. You're looking at about a $250 investment and this will last me a couple years most likely. I got everything from www.autogeek.net

Here are the products/pads that I used.

Meguiar's 105 with a CCS orange pad to remove the swirls.

Meguiar's 205 with a gray pad to do a final buff.

Cool.

The Ultimate line is based on that stuff and works very well too. It's available at most places that sell Meg's stuff. I have used the Ultimate Compound and Polish with great results.
