I am getting my car ready for the first BIG car show event of the year--MoPars Unlimited "Spring Round-Up"--to be held May 1, Bellevue, WA., with 300 to 400 cars expected to be entered. My guess is there will be no more than a dozen or so PT Cruisers but I really don't know for sure.

This is the first full detail the Seamist Green CruzN Machine received since last year (October, 2004) when Perfect Auto Finish Ultimate Paint Sealant Professional Grade was last applied to the finish. Other than a few washings nothing else was done to the car during the winter months. It is kept in a garage and the paint has NEVER received a "clay bar treatment".

I washed the car and then wiped on/wiped off Perfect Auto Finish Ultimate Poly-Seal with outstanding results. The photos have not been touched-up or enhanced in any way. Using Ultimate Paint Sealant (every 6 months) in conjunction with Ultimate Poly Seal (before a car show or every month or so) does wonders for the finish without breaking your budget or your back.

Perfect Auto Finish products have come through for me once again—awesome shine with little or no effort on my part! Smile Cool

Lookin sharp! If that car show was about 5 weeks later I'd be up there with ya in marysville but it looks like I'm gonna have to miss this one Confused I'll definitely have to give you a call when I go up there and check out your cruiser in person...from the looks of it that's the ONLY reason you need sunglasses up there cuz the sun doesn't come out but your car sure does shine!

Hey Gary, I finally saw a Seamist Green Cruiser on the road today. Great color, but the one I saw could have used your magic touch with the sealant! I guess not everyone is as dedicated as you, huh?

Your car looks fantastic, Gary! It literally glows! Good luck in the show! Bring home a trophy and take pics for us. I'd love to see what you go up against!

I've used Zaino, but recently converted to DuPont Teflon car wax. A fellow PTer told me about it, I tried it, and love it. Nothing sticks to it. The shine is good, but there are probably better shines, but even mud just falls off when you touch it.

Thanks all. Smile As good as the shine is now, my car's finish will NOT pass the "plastic bag test". Sad From what I have read and heard from turbomangt (Gary Kouba, owner of Perfect Auto Finish), in order for a car's painted surface to pass this test it MUST receive a clay bar treatment which I have been reluctant to do. You know what they say: "If it's not broken don't fix it!" Hope to take some PICS at the show and post them. The weather reports keep changing so I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping for good weather without any rain.

Well I'll be dammed, I used to do lots of burnouts in that casino parking lot w/ my camaro too lol. I'll have to think about that one but I dunno if I can push the vacation back that far considering this is the first ever paid vacation I've ever had! Gotta talk to the mrs as well cuz she hated goin up there last thanksgiving when it was cold...so I'm gonna have to convince here somehow that the sun actually does come out from time to time in order to get her back up there Wink

Having lived in Washington State for the past 17 years I can say that August is one month each year of "guarenteed" sun.
However, I would go on vacation where the wife wants and have fun. Smile Cool

Gary, don't be reluctant to clay that beautiful car of your's! Trust me, you will love the way the surface will feel afterwards! It'll feel like your hand is gliding on glass! And your car will shine more. Wink Wink It's much easier than you thing. I understand the "If it's not broken, don't fix it" point of view, but your PT wasn't broke before you started modding it, right?? Wink Wink Wink Cool

Isn't that a lot of extra work? It is my understanding that the car must be washed, use paint cleaner, apply clay bar treatment, then wash the car again, and finally, apply the Ultimate Paint Sealant. Sounds like a real PITA to me for just a little more shine. Rolling Eyes Am I wrong? Confused
