Almost every Saturday through the year Meguiar's holds a free clinic for local car clubs. It is completely free of charge, Meguiar's supplies the coffee and donuts in the morning then presents a quick PowerPoint presentation on the company's background, and then a three hour session on what paint care is all about, various products and methods used, etc. Pizza and soft drinks are the provided for lunch, followed by a hands on session in the garage where you learn how to remove swirl marks by hand and by machine. A vehicle is selected from the participants for this demonstration, but the vehicle must be reasonably clean as there is neither the time nor provision for washing on site.

I've been to several of these sessions and learn something new each time. It takes place in Irvine, CA, near John Wayne Airport, on Saturdays beginning at 8:00. Things usually break up around 3:00PM or so, and you do go home with a goody bag - usually two or three full sized bottles of product and a few small samples.

I'm sure I can get one of these set up for members of PT Crew, but I'd like to see what sort of interest there is in something like this. Classes are limited to 30 people, and if the car club doesn't fill it then the remaining seats are available to members of Meguiar's forum. I know we wouldn't fill it, but if we can get a dozen or so people committed to going (date to be determined, of course) then I'll go ahead and put things in motion.

Who's in????

Count me in along with LocaWeda. We will each bring our own PT's.

This is a great opportunity! I learn something everytime I am there!

Lets see.....driving my car all night (20 hours) on I-10 from Phoenix to Houston last spring, hitting a tire casing in the road and wiping out a fog light and cracking the fascia, huge stretches of road where you can't even see a porch light, every gas station closed at night for hundreds of miles while the gage drops, stopping for a National Guard road block with a drug sniffing dog when I have no idea of the history of the car. Shocked

I think I'd rather go to the car wash. Confused
