.... what do you PT perverts use? Replacing the headlights is kinda out of the question, that's rather expensive.
Wax? Polish? |

I tried several things that did not work, and then bought a set off Amazon for ~$80...waiting for non-freezing weather to install them. _________________ 2005 Touring Edition, N/A, Hardtop, Inferno Red, Taupe Interior, AT. |

I have used this kit from Harbor Freight a few times: http://www.harborfreight.com/headlamp-lens-restoration-kit-62373.html
There are plenty of different kits out there but most are much more expensive than this one and they all do basically the same thing, sand the lenses...
It works OK to remove the haziness/yellowing from the lenses, but it also removes the protective coating on the lenses, but that is probably already damaged anyway...
It lasts for a while then they haze up/yellow again. But the next time it's much easier to clean them up with just a plastic polish. I also wax the headlights when waxing the car. _________________ Joel

I sand with 1000 grit, then 2000 grit, both wet. Then I polish with a 3" buffer I have with a foam pad, using Autosol. Autosol is pretty kickass for all sorts of polishing purposes, check it out at Eastwood. It's not the cure all end all but clears them up for awhile. _________________

The sanding and polishing remove the UV protectant layer.
So, spray a couple of coats of UV protectant clearcoat when done. |

Blue Magic Headlight lens restorer and
Blue Magic Headlight lens sealer.
Advantages:
Cheap, easy, good results. Just follow directions.
Disadvantage:
Doesn't last more than a few months. _________________ Silver '05 Limited, Turbo, Auto, sunroof, ABS, Spoiler, E&G Classic Grill, K&N FIPK, BTG Duals, Rear lowered 1.5", $20 catch can, Aoogah horn, LED washer Lights, Sunroof deflector, window deflectors, Alteeza Gen 3 taillights, 7/8" rear sway bar, hood struts, strut bar.

Thanks for the links (and tips). I'm going to use my buddy's body shop tools (aka buffer) and whatever 3M stuff they have. He seems to think I should take the headlamp assemblies off the car but that would be a major pain in the arse. Lots of masking tape it is! |

Leave them in place, that way you can lay into them with the buffer without them moving around! _________________ '03 Electric Blue GT | Stage 1| Boost gauge | Lowered 1.75" | Tokico Blues | RB-1 NAV radio with pre-out mod | $1 shorty antenna | ♪♫Custom MB Quart Sub♪♫. |

I bought complete replacements that have glass lens. _________________ Hot rodders are a strange lot. It would nice if glass replacement headlights were available. _________________ Hot rodders are a strange lot. This may sound strange but I tried Repel insect repelent on the advice of a friend. It cleaned off the yellow haze instantly and they have remained clear so far for the past several months. I used the squirt bottle rather than the aerosol type. |

And does it keep bugs off the headlights? _________________ Silver '05 Limited, Turbo, Auto, sunroof, ABS, Spoiler, E&G Classic Grill, K&N FIPK, BTG Duals, Rear lowered 1.5", $20 catch can, Aoogah horn, LED washer Lights, Sunroof deflector, window deflectors, Alteeza Gen 3 taillights, 7/8" rear sway bar, hood struts, strut bar.
