Just one quick q guys and gals.
Any particular backing plate adapter that you recommend?
The backing plate you use is going to depend on what pads you're using. If you're using Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 pads - the 7" pads with the recessed back to them - the you want Meguiar's W68DA backing plate. If you're using Lake Country pads then use either the Meguiar's W67DA or Lake Country's own backing plate.

What are you using now for pads and plate?

I'm using the supplied polishing foam pad that pc gives you. It works ok but not nearly as good as I'd like.

Wait. What? You used the white pad with the integrated backing plate supplied with the buffer? You may be the first person I've ever heard of who actually did that!!! Did you use that one pad for the whole job, paint cleaner and wax both or did you wax by hand?

Is that bad? Just for compound then cleaned it thoroughly before moving on to polish. Hand applied m26.

Copy me on that PM...I too used the (gasp!) included pad and backer that came with my PC. I admit that it is not a very high quality piece, but back when I did a proper detail job on my car it turned quite nice. I learned a lot in the process and still have much to learn I'm sure.
